About The Position

St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Board-Certified / Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join an established hospital-employed surgical program. This opportunity offers a flexible, paid call schedule and a practice focused primarily on bread-and-butter general surgery in a supportive clinical environment. Requirements

• BC/BE in General Surgery
• Interest in core general surgery procedures
• Team-oriented and patient-focused

Responsibilities

• Call: 1 week per month, flexible and paid
• Practice Model: Employed
• Case Mix: Predominantly core general surgery
• Appendectomy
• Cholecystectomy
• Hernia repair
• Bowel procedures
• Abscesses and emergent general surgery
• OR Access: Dedicated block time
• Support: Strong anesthesia, hospitalist, ICU, and specialty backup
