About The Position

JSET Automated Technologies delivers low-voltage, BMS, and EPMS solutions for data center projects and other industrial environments. Our teams focus on clear communication, steady execution, and doing quality work that stands up to the demands of these facilities. The General Superintendent provides senior leadership for BMS and EPMS installations on large data center projects. This role directs field operations, oversees all site-based Superintendents and Foremen, manages resources, and ensures strong execution across multiple phases of work. The General Superintendent drives schedule alignment, quality, safety, and technical accuracy while serving as the highest field authority for controls-related installation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or similar is preferred.
  • Technical certifications or vocational training in electrical systems, controls, or MEP are required.
  • 10+ years of electrical or controls installation experience.
  • 5+ years leading field operations as a Superintendent or General Superintendent on large data center projects.
  • Proven ability to manage BMS/EPMS scopes of $6M+ or concurrent mission-critical projects.
  • Expertise in interpreting BIM models, P&IDs, control logic, and network topology.
  • Experience with major BMS/EPMS platforms such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, or Johnson Controls.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, TIA-942, and BICSI standards.
  • Understanding of critical data center infrastructure, including mechanical cooling systems and electrical distribution.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate senior field staff.
  • Advanced planning, scheduling, and risk management capabilities.
  • Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all BMS/EPMS field operations and provide direction across multiple projects or phases.
  • Manage and mentor Superintendents and Foremen, ensuring consistent performance and development.
  • Partner with Project Management to plan manpower, tools, and subcontractor needs.
  • Identify risks early and resolve issues that impact schedule, quality, or safety.
  • Receive, review, and distribute drawing revisions (IFC, bulletins, addendums) to all field teams.
  • Interpret and guide installation using P&IDs, single-line diagrams, control diagrams, and system architecture.
  • Enforce compliance with approved Submittals and perform regular field audits.
  • Review and approve RFIs related to field conditions, scope questions, and design challenges.
  • Ensure controls network architecture is installed correctly, including VLANs, IP schemes, and communication paths.
  • Drive alignment with the General Contractor's master schedule and critical path milestones.
  • Provide high-level progress updates to leadership and client teams.
  • Monitor production rates and field efficiency to support budget control.
  • Recommend installation strategies that maintain safety, quality, and schedule targets.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority for conduit systems, cable routing, panel integration, device installation, and system layout.
  • Confirm installations meet Tier III/IV design requirements and redundancy paths.
  • Prepare the field for commissioning by ensuring systems are installed, terminated, labeled, and ready for pre-functional and IST activities.
  • Represent JSET in meetings with clients, design engineers, and the General Contractor's leadership.
  • Lead coordination efforts with Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Alarm, and IT teams to support system integration.
  • Support issue resolution and maintain strong working relationships across all trades.
