About The Position

The role of the General Superintendent for PowerFLX is to assist the Site Manager and Project Manager to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. Position location will vary depending on project. Position requires 90% travel.

Requirements

  • Progressive construction experience with the above responsibilities for over 10 years.
  • Must be willing to travel domestic and international.
  • Must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must have strong communications skills and organizational skills.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization, upper management, and to outside vendors, regulatory officials, and customers.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions percentages area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, thermodynamics, chemistry, and electricity.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • PMI, PMP certification highly desirable.
  • Must exhibit technical leadership and have experience with team building, process improvement, conflict resolution, and motivating people.
  • Proven Strategic Planning, Complex Budgeting and Resource/Vendor Management experience.
  • Experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills at multiple levels with senior leadership, project support, resources/vendors, and as well field staff.
  • Formal training in Project Management methods and techniques.
  • Ability to work in harsh environments, in stressful situations and during unsociable hours.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with EPC leadership to define the scope of work for assigned projects and develop statements of work, work breakdown structures, task estimates, and specific tasks and milestones to implement customer or internal projects.
  • Identify assumptions and constraints (i.e., technical, schedule, resource, and budget) for the project.
  • Manage the relationship with the customer and define expectations.
  • Manage the vendor and is the primary point of contact to ensure completion of project tasks within schedule and budget, including regular communications/meetings, compliance with statement of work, joint vendor project plan, and invoice review.
  • Manage project resources, including ensuring that project deliverables are of acceptable quality.
  • Manage all change orders and document the same on a timely basis.
  • Manage and documents scope changes and budget implications and obtains necessary approvals.
  • Manage the project budget.
  • Work directly with Primavera Scheduling and be able to plan and schedule work using man-loading and other basic skills related to the software.
  • Facilitate team and customer meetings.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to the ProEnergy team and all stakeholders.
  • Understand pricing models and billing procedures.
  • Provide feedback to project team on performance, provide input to performance appraisals.
  • Monitor, control, and communicate to corporate management the status of customer and/or internal projects, with attention to resource utilization, project costs, risk management, project profit margins, and the overall performance of the ProEnergy project team.
  • Frequent travel and remaining at site locations for prolonged periods is required.
