About The Position

The General Services Tech is responsible for assisting in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. This position requires knowledge and skill in a wide range of maintenance fields. The technician will assist the Engineering Department with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance. Duties also include constructing, repairing, and maintaining wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, partitions, and other parts of the hospital buildings, using hand tools and power tools according to written and oral instructions. The role involves assisting in the operation and maintenance of boilers and other auxiliary equipment necessary for producing steam for heat and power of the facility. The technician may also be required to respond to security needs of hospital and clinics personnel, patients, and visitors, and will participate in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active Arkansas boiler license required
• If hired to drive, a valid Driver's License required
• Ability to teach/instruct and evaluate the learning of new employees

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification through the American Heart Association, preferred
• CARE certification, preferred
