About The Position

The General Service Technician at Wilhelm Automotive is responsible for performing non-technical automotive service repairs, including oil changes and tire services, while ensuring high-quality customer service and maintaining shop cleanliness. This entry-level position offers opportunities for advancement and requires a commitment to safety and company policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A current, valid driver's license.
• Possess a current or expired State Inspector License or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
• General understanding of under the hood, mechanical, and undercarriage assemblies.
• Ability to work a minimum of five days per week, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance, and tire rotation.
• Conduct oil changes and other basic services as directed by the Shop Manager or Store Manager.
• Observe general vehicle condition and report any needed repairs or safety concerns to management.
• Utilize the company's Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to document vehicle conditions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop, including service areas, tire racks, showroom, and exterior.
• Safely transport customers to and from their residences or businesses using the company vehicle.
• Pick up parts, supplies, and tires from vendors or the corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operate the company vehicle safely and courteously, obeying all traffic laws.
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections ethically, following company and state guidelines.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
