ConVal Regional High School is looking for an energetic educator to join our science department. Potential candidates would be able to deliver quality instruction, and run engaging lab experiments that will develop student's content knowledge and build their analytical and scientific thinking skills. Excellent classroom and laboratory management skills, a collaborative nature, and experience with teaching biology is ideal. NH licensure in Life Sciences/Biology (1302) or Statement of Eligibility is required. Potential teaching assignments could include Biology, Physical Science, AP Biology, and/or various science elective courses. POSITION PURPOSE: Science Teacher: Will develop students' skills and competence in one or more fields of science, including general science, earth science, biology, physiology, chemistry, and physics; develops student's skills and abilities in scientific methods and problem-solving, as well as an understanding of the application of science in the solution of practical problems. Promotes critical and creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areas. Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of science to everyday existence, including scientific research projects, demonstrations, experiments, and laboratory activities. Instructs students in the proper use and care of scientific equipment, chemicals, and plant and animal life. Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment, maintains inventory records, and ensures equipment is in good working order.
