The General Science Teacher for grades 7 and 8 at Dunbar School is responsible for establishing and adjusting instructional goals and objectives to reflect district and school goals, curriculum policies, and the needs of students. The teacher will design lessons that promote problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills in relation to real-world problems. Maintaining standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships is essential. The position requires a commitment to ongoing professional development in content area and pedagogy, as well as planning learning activities that address individual differences among students. The teacher will develop, administer, and evaluate quality formative and summative assessments, monitor and evaluate student progress, and encourage parental and community involvement in support of instruction. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
