A Typical DayThe Sanitation Operator is responsible for facilitating all HC and H1 cleaning and minor utility work. Must insure that all proper documentation is completed daily and accurate information is passed to the appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English.
  • Be able to work variable shifts and overtime when needed
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution
  • Ability to work in a cold environment, estimated temp of 35 degrees
  • Ability to lift 60lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Warehouse forklift experience
  • General sanitation experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Forklift certified
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility is to prep and clean HC and H1.
  • Monitoring of all Cold Box cleaning, including documentation.
  • Responsible for monitoring all chemical tanks, day drums and jugs for proper labeling and filling.
  • Working with Cold Box Operators on cleaning issues throughout the Cold Box.
  • Follow specified cleaning and documentation as contained in the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Working with plant, food safety, and Ecolab personnel to ensure effective cleaning of all equipment.
  • Hours for this position will vary and flexibility is required.
  • Ensure forklift battery maintenance is performed.
  • Follow and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
  • Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures. This includes communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates as well as participating in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
  • Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times. This includes reporting any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.
