About The Position
The General Labor PR01 - Processing Packer position at Hickman Rd Plant involves the essential task of packaging sausage products, ensuring quality and safety standards are met throughout the process. Packers are responsible for the final packaging of sausage chubs and slicks, which includes visually inspecting the products for any defects and removing any defective items from the production line. The finished products are then palletized according to specific configurations, ensuring that they are ready for distribution. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality control. In addition to packaging duties, packers are expected to keep their work areas clean and organized during production. At the end of each shift, they must perform a thorough wipe down of the machinery and cover motors with protective plastic to ensure equipment longevity and safety. Packers must operate within established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) to maintain a safe working environment. The role may also involve other duties as assigned by supervisors or leads. Packers are not only responsible for their own tasks but also play a crucial role in training new team members on the job. They are expected to promote safety awareness among their peers and report any unsafe practices to supervisors. Upholding a culture of respect and adherence to company policies is paramount, and packers are encouraged to notify management of any conduct that violates this culture.
