About The Position

The General Production Worker is responsible for processing, screening, and packaging product to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations. GPW’s must follow all safety, GMP, and quality processes in every step of production to ensure the integrity of the product and the safety of all team members. Will be required to maintain personal hygiene standards. This location currently at this time is not accepting rehires, candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods. The General Production Worker will inspect product on various lines to check for foreign material and to make sure product meets customer specifications such as proper color, size, shape, etc. They will properly stack product to maintain accurate case counts for each product, assemble and tape boxes in a fast pace to keep up with production lines, and pack product in boxes based on customer specifications, ensuring proper weight and product count. The role requires a willingness to train new hires and transferred team members, and to learn all general production positions as positions will rotate on a regular basis throughout the shift and may include both corn and flour departments. The worker must correctly follow general manufacturing, safety, and quality processes, and immediately communicate any product, equipment, quality, safety, or HR concerns to a lead and/or supervisor. Ongoing production, quality, safety, and other required training will be completed. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the production area, keeping it free of debris and potential foreign material, and returning production-related tools/equipment at the end of the shift are also responsibilities. The GPW is responsible for notifying Supervisor and/or QA of contamination concerns and following all company policies/procedures, written or verbal. All other assigned tasks must be performed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform duties on GPW Training Checklist job tasks within expected training period.
  • Must be able to follow direction and stay on task with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to colleagues and management in professional manner.
  • Must be able to read and understand the GMP operation standards, manuals, and related documentation as written.
  • Requires flexibility of wrists and hands, strength and sufficient mobility for walking, bending, standing, twisting, pushing/pulling, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) on regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete floor for up to eight (8) hours a day.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times when on production floor and may include: smock, hair net, ear plugs, slip resistant shoes and safety glasses, gloves, boots, aprons.
  • Must have good personal hygiene; bathe regularly; have clean nails, clothes, and hair.
  • Jewelry, torn/ripped clothing, clothing with gems/pearls/”bling”, watches, fake nails, pierced jewelry/rings, and other lose material is prohibited on production floor.
