About The Position

Barkera is seeking a General Practice Veterinarian (DVM/VMD) to provide in -person clinical veterinary care in a collaborative, supportive environment. This role focuses on hands -on patient care , preventative medicine, diagnostics, treatment, and client communication—without advisory, influencer, or content -creation responsibilities. Requirements

DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
Active veterinary license (or eligibility) in the practicing state
Commitment to ethical, evidence -based veterinary medicine
Strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills
Excellent communication and client education abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a team -based clinical setting
New graduates and experienced veterinarians are both encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive physical examinations and wellness evaluations
Diagnose and manage common medical conditions across life stages
Develop and implement preventative care plans, including:
Vaccination protocols
Parasite prevention
Nutrition guidance within general practice scope
Growth and senior wellness monitoring
Interpret and utilize diagnostic tools, including:
In -house and reference laboratory testing
Radiography and imaging (where applicable)
Basic cytology and pathology
Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans consistent with best practices
Perform routine surgical procedures as appropriate to experience and comfort level
Maintain accurate, compliant medical records
Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
Collaborate with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff
Refer cases appropriately to specialists when indicated
