Department CHS Pediatric Administration Job Summary Diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and injuries in children. May refer patients to specialists for further diagnosis or treatment, as needed. Denver Health Medical Center is recruiting for a General Pediatrics physician. Care teams provide high quality, patient-centered primary care to a diverse urban patient population in an FQHC setting. Our clinic sites are eligible for state and federal loan repayment programs. Clinics Include: Eastside Clinic Westside Clinic Webb Peds Primary Clinic Select Family Medicine Locations Required Documents: Both an updated resume and cover letter are required with application. Requirements

  • Education : Doctorate Degree Graduate of an accredited medical school required
  • Licenses : MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Shift Work Type Regular

Responsibilities

  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children. (50%)
  • Treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns. (10%)
  • Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis. (5%)
  • Advise patients, parents or guardians, and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. (5%)
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians. (5%)
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, or examination results. (5%)
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary. (5%)
  • Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary. (5%)
  • Teach residents or medical students about pediatric topics. (5%)
  • Provide consulting services to other physicians. (5%)
