Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • 2 years of experience in orthopedics preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong clinical and diagnostic skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care with a commitment to improving our community's health.
  • Proficiency in performing orthopedic procedures and surgeries.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients through medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic imaging
  • Diagnose musculoskeletal injuries, diseases, and degenerative conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication, physical therapy, and surgical interventions
  • Perform orthopedic surgeries for common orthopedic pathology including but not limited to fracture repair, arthroscopy, and reconstructive procedures
  • Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, primary care providers, and other specialists
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment options, risks, and recovery plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with legal and institutional standards
  • Stay current with advancements in orthopedic medicine and surgical techniques
  • Participate in on-call rotations and consultations as required
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, radiologists, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to optimize patient outcomes.
