Summary/Objective The General Operator is responsible for operating various equipment in the secondary departments, including, but not limited to Heat Treating, Straightening, Blackening, and Saws. This role requires flexibility across multiple departments to support evolving business needs. This role will report indirectly to the Sr. Operations Lead, with a direct reporting relationship to the Production Manager. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Operate equipment in secondary departments, including Heat Treating, Straightening, Blackening, and Saws. Perform machine setup, calibration, and changeovers for different production runs to ensure optimal performance. Inspect product throughout the production process, using precision tools such as calipers and micrometers to ensure they meet required tolerances. Document daily production activities, including machine performance, part quality, and material usage with ERP. Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, minimizing machine downtime. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized workspace using 5S methodologies. Flex across various departments within the facility to support business needs and maintain efficient production workflow. Assist with material handling, including moving raw materials and finished products to and from workstations as required, utilizing material handling equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts. Perform quality assurance checks on completed products, ensuring they meet company and customer specifications. Any/all other duties as assigned.

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience.
  • Average level of computer literacy.
  • Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, gages, etc.
  • Capable of using all required hand tools.
  • Ability to read/write, perform basic arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
