Why Join Us | DuPont Careers DuPont has an immediate opening for a General Operator – Level 5 at our Circleville, OH site! The General Operator monitors and operates equipment and facilities, including field equipment, insuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures. Maintains safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary. Rotates through various roles within the area, including, in some cases, a control room rotation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
  • Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule including overtime, sometimes on short notice.
  • Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as steel toes, hardhat, protective eyewear and clean room attire.
  • Willing and able to lift and move objects that weigh up to 35 lbs.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Must have experience operating fork trucks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must be able to keep accurate written records and maintain good communication skills.
  • Must have attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, dependable, reliable, and must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Must have Medical clearance and respirator approval.
  • Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, feed, or flow of liquids or gases and times of prescribed reactions, according to knowledge of equipment and processes.
  • Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using panelboards, control boards, or semi-automatic equipment.
  • Direct activities of workers assisting in control or verification of processes or in unloading of materials.
  • Drain equipment and pump water or other solutions through to flush and clean tanks or equipment.
  • Measure ingredients or substances to be used in production processes.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products.
  • Open valves or start pumps, agitators, reactors, blowers, or automatic feed of materials.
  • Read plant specifications to determine products, ingredients, or prescribed modifications of plant procedures.
  • Dump or scoop prescribed solid, granular, or powdered materials into equipment.
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Patrol work areas to detect leaks or equipment malfunctions or to monitor operating conditions.
  • Implement appropriate industrial emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain clean work areas.
  • Dispose of hazardous materials.
  • Makes decisions and establishes necessary priorities for course of action based on judgment and job knowledge where established standards may not apply.
