The General Office Clerk Level II at Foster Farms is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Construction, Maintenance, and Engineering Departments. This role ensures smooth day-to-day office operations, serves as the primary contact for internal and external service requests, and manages various clerical tasks including correspondence, scheduling, and project coordination.

  • Provide administrative and clerical support for the Construction, Maintenance, and Engineering Departments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external requests related to the departments.
  • Independently review and respond to non-routine correspondence and inquiries.
  • Handle complaints and follow up with necessary adjustments.
  • Carry out special projects as directed by the supervisor.
  • Follow up on assignments or projects to ensure implementation and notification of appropriate parties.
  • Coordinate office services such as maintenance, supplies, and employee functions.
  • Review and recommend changes in workflow and simplify reporting procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings, and screen incoming calls.
  • Compile and maintain confidential corporate records.
  • Coordinate collection and preparation of operating reports for department projects.
  • Prioritize and set schedules for the department's material runners.
  • Receive and prioritize construction/maintenance requests based on bird age.
  • Act as the main contact for labor contractors and assist in scheduling temporary laborers.
  • Create and issue purchase requisitions and purchase orders for vendors, verifying invoices against purchase orders.
  • Assist the Accounting Department with discrepancies regarding invoices and contract amounts.
  • Research cost comparisons and contracts for equipment rentals company-wide.
  • Create and maintain a database of all rentals issued and terminated against projects.
  • Manage the office while supervisors oversee construction sites.
  • Support supervisors in ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Review and recap timecards for verification of hours and compliance.
  • Minimum of 1 year's clerical experience.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office; understanding of SAP preferred.
  • Ability to use Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, TSO/CICS, and email programs.
  • Ability to download and run project reports.
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Consistent attendance.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Understanding of SAP.
  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.55 to $23.75.
  • Additional pay for hours worked during late night shifts.
