About The Position

The Mobile Marine Operator will work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day while on assignment; primary duties in support of Marine Operations as a fuel truck driver, maintenance and repair, operate heavy equipment, welding and fabrication, and other duties as assigned. Travel to any Western Alaskan location as directed by the Company, including travel on small aircraft and marine vessels. There may be extended periods of time on a vessel. The position requires extensive travel within Alaska. Somewhat flexible but typically, seven days per week, twelve hours per day. Duration of assignment is also flexible but can be lengthy during the marine operating season.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful pre-employment background and drug test
  • DOT Medical Card
  • Alaska Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
  • Possess TWIC card or able to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • General maintenance skills, i.e. facility and/or equipment
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear a half face respirator.
  • Must be able to climb stairs at least 50 ft. high.
  • Requires work outside in all types of weather.
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Be able to work overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding Certification.
  • SIDA Certification.
  • Forklift Operator Certification preferred.
  • 24-hour HAZWOPER certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of Tank Farm operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fuel Truck Driver, deliver and receive fuel to and from company storage tanks, customer tanks and barges on beaches and unimproved roads. This is the primary duty during the marine vessel operating season, May-October.
  • Maintain and repair diesel and gasoline powered vehicles, heavy equipment, air compressors and pumps carried by barges.
  • Assist in Marine vessel maintenance, repair and modifications during the marine operating season and winter maintenance periods.
  • Operate heavy equipment, forklifts and assist with launching boats and barges.
  • Follows all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Welding, basic metal repair and fabrication.
  • Proficiency with fleet maintenance software.
