About The Position

The General Merchandise Team Leader role involves leading a team to ensure product is set, merchandised, and available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. This position also includes leading inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. The General Merchandise Team Leader is responsible for inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up, and pricing processes for all areas of the store, and may also lead Food & Beverage and Food Service operations. The role provides opportunities to develop skills in guest service, retail business fundamentals, and team leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Educate team on operational procedures affecting inventory management and product availability.
  • Assess reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and develop plans for resolution.
  • Lead daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and organizing the backroom.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for team members and hold them accountable.
  • Collaborate with all teams and leaders to ensure the store is guest ready.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and create equitable experiences.
  • Lead and model a safety culture and ensure compliance with safety expectations.
  • Engage with guests and provide assistance as needed.
