The General Merchandise Team Leader role involves leading a team to ensure product is set, merchandised, and available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. This position is responsible for inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. The team also leads inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up, and pricing processes for all areas of the store, and may also lead Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. The role provides skills and experience in guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals, and team leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18 or older.
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
• Effective communication skills.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
• Educate team on operational procedures affecting inventory management and store profitability.
• Assess reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and develop plans for resolution.
• Lead daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and organizing the backroom.
• Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
• Establish clear goals and expectations for team members.
• Lead pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work accurately.
• Collaborate with all teams and leaders to ensure the store is guest ready.
• Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
• Model a culture of executing best practices and help close skill gaps through development.
