The General Merchandise Team Leader role involves leading the General Merchandise and Food Sales team, ensuring product is set, merchandised, and available, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. This position is responsible for inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. The role also includes leading inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up, and pricing processes for all areas of the store, while providing a fresh and food-safe experience in Food & Beverage and Food Service. The General Merchandise Team Leader will help build and develop skills for a career, focusing on guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals, and leading a team effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18 or older.
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
• Effective communication skills.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail management or leadership roles.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
• Educate team on operational procedures affecting inventory management and store profitability.
• Assess reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and develop plans for resolution.
• Lead daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and organizing the backroom.
• Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
• Establish clear goals and expectations for team members and hold them accountable.
• Collaborate with all teams and leaders to ensure the store is guest ready.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
• Model a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors.
