About The Position
This entry-level General Merchandise Clerk position at Meijer is responsible for delivering remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude. Team members will be exposed to a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising. The role involves building rapport with customers, displaying a friendly and outgoing attitude, and assisting customers with questions, directing them to other team members if necessary. Responsibilities also include stocking product and maintaining displays according to merchandising standards, and utilizing technology to complete activities and tasks. This position is applicable to various departments including Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, and Floral. Responsibilities
- Deliver remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service, and a friendly attitude
- Complete a variety of retail tasks related to product, customer service, pricing, inventory, and merchandising
- Collaborate with other team members and managers on additional tasks as needed
- Build rapport with customers
- Display a friendly and outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language
- Help customers with any questions they may have and direct them to another team member who can assist if unable to answer
- Stock product and maintain displays according to merchandising standards
- Utilize technology to complete activities and tasks
