About The Position

This job oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned areas of responsibility and associated facility utilities. Sets schedules and issues preventive and corrective work orders, and regularly supervises maintenance of utility system. Responds and assists to maintenance requests for assigned facilities. Maintains facility in a safe, functional, supportive and effective condition. Accurately documents all activities in appropriate logs and oversees contractors in scheduled and emergency corrective actions. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in commercial, industrial or hospital maintenance
  • Experience with all hand and power tools
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of residence
  • Trade school or company school with a license or certification when required by a Regulatory Agency or as job duties dictates in any of the following disciplines: pneumatics, steam, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, refrigeration, welding, plumbing or machine work
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to troubleshoot and analyze problems associated with areas of responsibilities.
  • Capable of handling the physical and mental stress associated with maintaining all equipment and systems operating.
  • Demonstrates effective management/judgment decision making.
  • General knowledge of Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Fire Marshall, and Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) regulations.
  • Ability to work extended work hours and call-in on an emergency basis.
  • Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to maintenance requests and assistance to hospital, clinic and supporting facilities.
  • Assigns and documents preventive and corrective maintenance on areas under the responsibility of this position.
  • Timely repairs to equipment and systems in critical situations.
  • Effectively reads and understands schematics and specifications to assign effective maintenance.
  • Assures proper operations of facility’s utilities and all support equipment.
  • Supervises annual, monthly, weekly, and daily maintenance of utility system.
  • Maintains daily documentation records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
