About The Position

Are you ready to join a growing team? Hospital Maintenance is seeking a skilled and experienced candidate to join our hospital services team. This position provides preventative maintenance and minor installations and repairs on hospital equipment, responds to emergency repair requests and breakdowns, ensuring swift resolution to minimize impact on hospital services. As a Hospital Maintenance General Mechanic in UAB Facilities, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and qualities that align with the unique demands of a healthcare environment, while demonstrating a dedication to providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two (2) years of related experience.
• Valid driver's license issued in the United States.
• At least 21 years of age and three years of driving experience.
• Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with hospital-specific equipment and systems.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, and general repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor installations and repairs on hospital equipment.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and breakdowns.
• Ensure swift resolution to minimize impact on hospital services.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and service history in a computerized maintenance software.
• Follow and complete work orders and preventative maintenance duties.
• Assist other maintenance personnel in the completion of their work.

Benefits

• Starting Rate: $17.00 - $22.50 based on relevant experience.
