About The Position

As a General Manager at SONIC Drive-In, you will lead the operations of the restaurant, ensuring a high-quality food service experience for customers. This role involves managing staff, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining compliance with company policies and local regulations. You will be responsible for training employees, managing inventory, and addressing customer and employee concerns, all while fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business or restaurant management preferred.
  • At least three years of restaurant management experience, preferably in quick service restaurants (QSR).
  • Experience in running a restaurant shift without supervision.
  • Proficient in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing employees.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Basic computer, math, accounting, and reading skills are necessary.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, decision-making, leadership, time-management, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train drive-in employees.
  • Manage compensation levels for drive-in employees according to company guidelines.
  • Supervise and manage all aspects of drive-in operations to ensure optimal guest experience.
  • Handle opening and closing duties of the drive-in.
  • Address and escalate guest issues and concerns appropriately.
  • Manage and resolve employee issues and concerns effectively.
  • Plan, forecast, and adjust food, labor, paper, and inventory to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Lead regular team meetings focused on operational standards and guest service.
  • Maintain all drive-in recordkeeping and prepare necessary operational reports.
  • Develop and implement local marketing and business performance action plans.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of drive-in facilities and equipment.
  • Supervise vendor performance and ensure compliance with company policies and local laws.
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties as per operational standards.
