About The Position

The General Manager (GM) at Landscape Workshop is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the branch's performance and ensuring compliance with the company's values and value proposition. This position requires the GM to cultivate a culture of safety and performance, deliver exceptional customer service, develop talent within the team, and achieve financial results. The company provides substantial support to help the GM meet these objectives, including back office assistance, coaching, systems, recruiting, access to capital, necessary equipment, real estate support, insurance, and marketing. However, the ultimate responsibility for branch performance lies with the GM. It is essential that customers receive a consistent experience across all branches, characterized by "Quality Service - Dedicated Professionals - Proactive Management." The GM is expected to demonstrate the company's values and value propositions through daily actions. This includes effective communication with Account Managers (AM), Business Development Managers (BDM), and Branch Administrators (BA) regarding the company's policies and procedures. The GM must ensure that the branch's culture aligns with the overall performance culture of the company and actively promote safety within the branch. Financial performance is a critical aspect of the role, requiring the GM to manage labor effectively, drive other revenue, and collaborate with the BDM to generate new sales. Understanding financials and making informed decisions to achieve budgetary goals is crucial. Customer retention is another key responsibility, with a target of maintaining a retention rate of 90% or better. The GM must ensure that the team understands and adheres to the 13 Point Plans and that the Retention Improvement Process is implemented effectively. Clear communication of annual and long-term goals to the team is essential, along with motivating them to exceed expectations and monitoring their progress through formal reviews and informal evaluations. The GM should also focus on the development of account managers, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and mentoring potential leaders within the branch. Continuous recruitment efforts are necessary to address personnel needs across the company.
