Our General Managers are critical to the success of the dealership; they help their sales and service teams produce results and build lasting and meaningful customer relationships. Pay for this position is salary plus commission. The expected pay is $200,000 - $400,000 per year.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent in business; and at least two years related experience and/or training in a dealership sales environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years in a supervisory role in prior employment.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S or B.A) or equivalent; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in retail automotive sales is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure our customers have a world-class car-buying experience at every step along their car-buying and ownership journey.
  • Provide an unparalleled level of expertise and support to dealership staff enabling them to deliver exceptional customer experiences while achieving dealership performance expectations.
  • Ensure dealership teams are motivated and trained, set goals based on individual skill levels, and maintain an appealing environment to draw the interest of customers.
  • Strive to grow the dealership and your career by setting monthly and annual goals for the dealership and providing support to staff to achieve those goals.
  • Effectively hire personnel required to meet departmental and organizational goals
  • Manage, including discipline and terminate, personnel as required to meet departmental and organizational goals
  • Effectively lead a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals
  • Demonstrate proper sales techniques to employees with generally accepted standards and company policy
  • Establish professional goals and implement a plan of action to achieve goals
  • Budget and understand financial requirements
  • Read and comprehend financial statements
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that impact retail automotive sales
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Process data and organize it for management analysis
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
