WHAT YOU’LL DO: ThriftBooks is seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead operations in a high-volume, multi-shift distribution center. This Director level role is ideal for a data-driven, people-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced, technology-enabled environments and has a strong record of improving operational performance and leading through change. Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, operations, or logistics, ideally in an e-commerce or manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of full ownership and accountability for a P&L.
  • Demonstrated success managing large, hourly workforces and multiple operational departments.
  • Proven ability to drive KPIs and business outcomes through coaching, systems management, and process improvement.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data to guide actions and evaluate performance.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of distribution operations, ensuring throughput, efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met or exceeded.
  • Manage site-level financial performance, including budget planning, forecasting, and full P&L accountability.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams across multiple shifts, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Implement scalable processes and operational best practices to support growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all appropriate internal departments to align initiatives and achieve organizational goals.
  • Maintain a strong focus on workforce planning, retention, and leadership development.
  • Utilize Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, streamline processes, and enhance quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while maintaining a people-first workplace culture.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy and warehouse systems to support order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
