About The Position

We are seeking an exceptional, forward-thinking General Manager to lead our
full-service Courtyard by Marriott® property — while also serving as an Adjunct
Professor in partnership with a leading university hospitality program.

You will drive financial performance, operational excellence, and guest
satisfaction — while partnering with the university to provide mentoring,
teaching, and inspiring future hospitality professionals through a fully
integrated, hands-on hotel practicum program.

You won’t just operate a hotel — you’ll operate a living classroom.

on a beautiful suburban campus, the Courtyard Newark-University of Delaware
offers impeccable service coupled with state-of-the-art technology. Our
beautifully appointed guestrooms offer all the comforts of home and feature

Requirements

• A proven General Manager or senior hotel executive
• Financially savvy and performance-driven
• Passionate about developing people
• A natural mentor and confident public speaker
• Community-connected and relationship-oriented
• Energized by innovation and experiential learning
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive hotel leadership experience
• Master’s degree required

Nice To Haves

• Marriott brand experience a plus
• Teaching, training, or mentoring experience strongly valued

Responsibilities

• Full operational oversight of a dynamic full-service Courtyard by Marriott® hotel
• Revenue growth, GOP performance, and strategic asset management
• Brand standards execution and guest experience excellence
• Sales strategy, market positioning, and community engagement
• Development and mentoring of department leaders
• Serve as Adjunct Professor within the University’s Hospitality Program
• Deliver an immersive practicum course hosted inside the hotel
• Mentor and coach hospitality students
