About The Position

This is not a traditional General Manager role; this is an opportunity to RUN a business. Are you ready to lead a high-performance team in a fast-paced, premium hospitality environment—where the guests just happen to be dogs? At The Wags Club, we’ve built the largest and most upscale dog resort on the Westside, delivering a luxury, cage-free experience that prioritizes safety, structure, and exceptional care. With continued expansion ahead, we’re looking for a General Manager who can operate at a high level, lead from the front, and take full ownership of the business. This is not a “pet job.” This is a full-scale operational leadership role.

Requirements

  • Proven experience running a business or location end-to-end
  • Strong leadership presence—you can set standards, enforce them, and build a team that performs
  • A track record of driving revenue and managing costs
  • High-level customer service instincts—you know how to resolve issues and retain clients
  • Extremely organized and operationally sharp—you don’t miss details
  • Comfortable in a hands-on environment —this is not a sit-back management role
  • Comfortable taking ownership of a 24/7 operation and responding appropriately when needed
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • A genuine understanding of dogs and group behavior dynamics

Responsibilities

  • Run daily operations with precision, ensuring a safe, structured, and efficient environment across daycare, boarding, and grooming
  • Handle escalations directly and build long-term relationships—retention is critical
  • Hire, train, coach, and hold staff accountable to performance standards; lead from the floor, not just the office
  • Drive revenue, control labor, manage inventory, and consistently hit monthly targets
  • Oversee scheduling, payroll, reporting, and full utilization of Gingr software
  • Enforce handling protocols, safety procedures, and service consistency across all shifts
  • Maintain Cal/OSHA compliance and ensure a safe operating environment
  • Oversee front desk sales, client communication, and social media presence to support revenue growth
