EDUCATION: College degree, in Hospitality Management preferred. TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: Previous GM or Club manager experience required. Valid Florida driver’s license. Exceptional leaders who have demonstrated readiness for broader responsibility will be considered. JOB KNOWLEDGE: The General Manager must possess comprehensive knowledge of private club operations, including Food & Beverage, Membership services, Tennis, Aquatics, Recreation programming, Marina/Yacht operations, Grounds, Engineering and administrative functions. The individual must understand how these departments operate independently while also recognizing the interdependence required to deliver a seamless and elevated member experience. JOB SUMMARY: The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, administration, and guest and member services at the. This includes setting strategic goals, managing budgets, ensuring exceptional guest and member experiences, and maintaining high standards of service and quality throughout the property. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to effectively communicate with the members; must be able to move about on the property, ensuring top quality appearance and service; must be able to drive a motor vehicle.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts.
  • Arrive to work on time, consistently.
  • Upon entering the property, arrive in proper attire, crisp, clean and in good repair.
  • Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
  • Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
  • Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
  • Oversee all Club operations including Mansion dining and events, Membership services, Tennis, Aquatics, Recreation, Marina/Yacht operations, Grounds and Engineering.
  • Establish high standards and continually monitor cleanliness, appearance and repair of the Mansion, dock areas, tennis courts, pool facilities, grounds and all public and back-of-house spaces.
  • Ensure a high standard of professionalism, appearance and service among all member-facing personnel through consistent leadership and training.
  • Greet members by name whenever possible. Make every effort to learn member preferences and ensure requests are executed promptly and completely.
  • Handle complaints of members regarding service, facilities and overall Club experience. Study concerns and implement corrective action where required.
  • Recommend Epping Forest yacht and Country Clubs leadership needs for capital improvements, refurbishing, renovations and facility upgrades.
  • Oversee all systems requirements in coordination with IT and EFYCC departments as necessary.
  • Attend industry events and remain current on private club and yacht club trends, implementing initiatives consistent with the Club’s standards.
  • Ensure detail and accuracy of all accounting procedures and financial reporting.
  • Employ, train, supervise, recommend salary levels and terminate appropriate personnel in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure staff performance evaluations are completed in a timely and consistent manner. Adhere to all established company HR practices.
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll and effective labor management across all departments.
  • Hold weekly staff meetings, keeping all department leaders informed of policies, member relations initiatives and operational priorities.
  • Monitor departmental scheduling, working toward controlling labor costs while maintaining service standards.
  • Maintain high sanitation and safety standards across dining, aquatics, marina and recreational areas.
  • Execute the general responsibilities common to all managers in minimizing operational costs and safeguarding the property and reputation of Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club.
  • Meet regularly with Gate Hospitality Group leadership to review financial performance, capital planning and operational initiatives.
  • Maintain active involvement within local private club and marina associations where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Grounds in scheduling maintenance and repairs to all Club facilities.
  • Ensure strong collaboration among department leaders to align service standards and member experience initiatives.
  • Maintain high visibility throughout the property daily, engaging members and colleagues.
  • Assist in the annual operating and capital budgeting process and monitor performance against approved budgets.
  • Focus on revenue growth, membership satisfaction, cost containment and EBIT performance without compromising service quality.
  • Perform and follow up on any other duties as assigned by the GHG president.
