The General Manager (GM) at ModWash is essentially the CEO of their assigned site, holding full responsibility for its people, performance, culture, and profitability. They are expected to operate with an ownership mindset, making daily decisions that contribute to long-term success while adhering to ModWash's standards, values, and strategy. This role requires the GM to think and act like a business owner, taking ownership of results, fostering leadership development, protecting the brand, and continuously enhancing operational efficiency. The position involves full accountability for site-level P&L results, including labor, revenue, expenses, membership growth, and guest satisfaction, with an emphasis on problem-solving rather than escalation. GMs are also responsible for people leadership, which includes hiring, developing, and retaining a strong team, building future leaders, and setting the cultural tone, expectations, and execution standards. They possess decision-making authority for real-time operational adjustments, such as staffing and priorities, within company guidelines. Furthermore, the GM acts as a brand and community steward, representing ModWash in the community, elevating the brand through guest interactions, and taking personal pride in the site as their own business.
