About The Position

As a General Manager (GM) you will take the helm of a fast-paced 3PL operation. In this role, you'll drive performance across distribution, packaging, and transportation while ensuring safety, profitability, and customer satisfaction. As a General Manager, you’ll set strategic goals, oversee daily operations, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and value. With responsibility for P&L management, staffing, safety programs, and customer relations, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering excellence for both associates and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or business or equivalent education plus experience is required.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience directly and indirectly managing staff.
  • Industry specific experience in high-volume 3PL, distribution or warehousing, with a deep understanding of industry best practices is required.
  • Strong operational experience within a cross dock operation is required.
  • Strong experience with full scope external high-level audits.
  • Proven track record in managing P&L, driving financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, WMS, databases, and analytics tools to optimize operational performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in presenting, writing, and speaking in professional settings.
  • Meticulous organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring seamless operations and consistent excellence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven success in delivering clear, professional presentations and reports.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the dynamic needs of the site operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with ADP platforms (E-Time, Enterprise, ADPRM) is beneficial.
  • Experience managing multiple facilities is a plus, offering growth opportunities in multi-site operations management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations in distribution, packaging, and transportation to meet company objectives and customer expectations.
  • Evaluate and set short/long-term operational goals aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements in all warehousing and transportation activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Manage safety programs to protect associates, equipment, and property.
  • Direct budget, P&L, and optimize labor costs through effective staffing plans.
  • Set job standards, evaluate performance, and provide training to maximize quality and productivity.
  • Analyze performance data and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Prepare and submit regular performance reports.
  • Ensure high levels of performance for associates and customers.
  • Communicate safety, quality, and customer standards to all stakeholders, ensuring compliance with policies and GMPs.
