About The Position

Diesel Power Group specializes in the remanufacturing of high-performance diesel engines, delivering quality and reliability to our customers. With a dedicated team and advanced facilities, they strive to be the leading provider in diesel engine remanufacturing and related services. Seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of Diesel Power Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, supervising staff, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining a strong financial focus. This role requires an understanding of heavy parts and diesel service, coupled with solid business acumen.

Requirements

  • Experience in heavy parts and diesel engine service/rebuild environments highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team in a remanufacturing or service setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyze financial statements, and implement cost-saving strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and growth.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and best practices.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to view a computer monitor.
  • Alpha/numeric keyboarding.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires the use of both hands.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire operation, including oversight of rebuilds, quality control, parts ordering, inventory cycle counts, and invoicing.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop staff to achieve operational excellence and high-performance standards.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Provide a Profit and Loss summary to the Board on a monthly basis.
  • Attend all Board meetings virtually, or attend in person, as needed.
  • Manage budgeting, cost control, and financial planning to ensure profitability and growth.
  • Maintain inventory controls and procurement processes for heavy parts and components.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with the customers.
  • Participate in job-related training and development.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.
