About The Position

SCA Pharma is an FDA 503b outsourcing facility providing customized medications for hospitals and healthcare facilities across the United States. We do this through unyielding quality, safety and integrity, our commitment to accountability and ownership, teamwork and problem solving. The General Manager is responsible for providing key leadership, direction, organization, management, monitoring and cGMP compliance of the roles, activities and proceedings of all assigned manufacturing personnel to ensure the successful, cost effective, timely and safe processing of customer orders. Responsible for leading the manufacturing team in the Windsor, CT site. The GM Will serve as a member of the SCA leadership team. The GM will work with site executive team members and operations staff to provide focus and direction for operations performance and strategy within a matrix environment.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in manufacturing or engineering or related discipline
  • 12+ years of progressively increasing managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in sterile and/or aseptic manufacturing.
  • Experience serving the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • Ability to direct individuals and delegate responsibilities and tasks
  • Experience in cGMPs and relevant Safety Regulations (e.g., OSHA)
  • Demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Able to interact effectively with a employees across all layers of the organization
  • Experience with Operational Excellence, Lean/Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement programs.
  • Proven track record of successful problem solving utilizing critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs manufacturing employees, including the preparation of equipment and components to be used in manufacturing and packaging processes
  • Manages all operational aspects of the area including safety, quality, productivity, cost, planning and daily business processes
  • Leads a cross-functional team of 350 employees, with aggressive growth targets
  • Responsible for driving innovation and strategy to enable business growth
  • Drives compliance with all applicable corporate and regulatory SOP, cGMP, and safety guidelines, working with site Quality Director
  • Effectively leads employee relations including hiring, discipline, rewards and recognition, and effective human capital resources allocation
  • Responsible for employee communications and engagement, including town halls, daily huddles, regular business updates
  • Participates and represents company in regulatory audits and inquiries.
  • Develop and achieve annual budget for Operations
  • Develop capital expenditure plans and recommendations
  • Lead Operational Excellence initiatives to improve operational efficiencies within areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve and meet the expected throughput and financial goals of the organization.
