General Manager – Cher-Make Facility (Manitowoc, WI)

Are you a strategic operations leader with a passion for safety, quality, and team development? Lakeside Foods is excited to announce an opening for General Manager at our Cher-Make Facility in Manitowoc, WI—a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing packaging and production operations, driving performance, and fostering a culture of excellence and safety.
This position is available due to internal promotions and retirements, reflecting our strong commitment to developing talent and creating career growth opportunities within Lakeside Foods. Now, we’re looking for the next leader to continue that tradition and take our Cher-Make operations to the next level.

What You’ll Do
As General Manager, you’ll be the cornerstone of our Cher-Make facility’s success. You’ll:

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations, with progressive leadership roles.
• 5+ years managing cross-functional teams including packaging, production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.
• Strong knowledge of plant operations, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Experience managing warehouse, shipping, and logistics functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop management teams across packaging, production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.
• Oversee day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency, food safety, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and food safety standards.
• Champion a proactive safety culture focused on both plant safety and employee well-being, including oversight of safety training, audits, and incident prevention.
• Collaborate with corporate and regional leadership to align operations with strategic goals.
• Manage budgets and recommend capital improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Support and enforce programs that maintain Lakeside’s reputation as a high-quality, safe food producer.
