About The Position

At Dog Gone Happy, the General Manager will lead a vibrant team, overseeing daily operations, staff management, and ensuring top-notch customer service for pets and their owners. This role involves balancing administrative tasks with active involvement in front desk, daycare, and kennel operations. The General Manager will also be responsible for staff development, collaborating with other Village Pet Care departments (HR, Payroll, Compliance) to achieve business objectives, preparing daily revenue reports, handling end-of-day procedures, safeguarding pet guests, and managing inventory. Additionally, the role includes overseeing team shifts, ensuring budget adherence, promoting Dog Gone Happy within the community, and undertaking other duties as needed to maintain seamless operations.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of at least 2 years in management, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to drive team performance.
  • Overseeing P&L, project management, departmental operations and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Strong commitment to guest service and their family members we serve.
  • Knowledgeable about and skilled in using technology, particularly computers, software, and other digital tools.
  • Comfortable with various gadgets and applications and can troubleshoot issues, understand new technologies quickly, and adapt to changing tech environments.
  • Skilled in managing people, recruiting and retention, coaching, problem-solving, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Passion for Pets: We’re looking for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, pet-friendly environment and are enthusiastic about contributing to the well-being of animals.
  • Utilize effective organizational strategies and tools to track progress and manage multiple responsibilities and meeting deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be adept at conveying information clearly and professionally.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Out-of-the-box thinker with a drive to improve and grow the resort.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active throughout your shift.
