About The Position

The General Manager (GM) is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and coordinating all sales, service, and operational functions of the company. Reporting directly to ownership, the GM drives revenue growth, ensures operational excellence, maintains compliance, and fosters a culture of accountability and teamwork. This role plays a critical part in shaping strategy, strengthening performance, and supporting long-term company growth.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience in plumbing, mechanical services, construction, or related industry
  • Experience overseeing both sales and service operations
  • Strong operational and scheduling knowledge
  • Financial acumen with budget and KPI management experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical contracting background
  • Knowledge of Texas plumbing regulations
  • Experience with estimating and service management systems
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience leading growth-oriented service teams

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for sales, service, and field operations teams
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and accountability standards
  • Align sales commitments with operational capacity
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork
  • Oversee estimating, proposals, pricing, and customer relationships
  • Drive revenue growth through new business and account expansion
  • Monitor pipeline performance, close rates, and customer retention
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and margin performance
  • Oversee scheduling, dispatch, and project execution
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
  • Resolve operational challenges efficiently
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Manage budgets, labor utilization, and operational costs
  • Track KPIs including revenue, gross margin, productivity, and rework
  • Review reports and implement corrective action when needed
  • Support billing, collections, and job costing processes
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Address escalated concerns professionally and promptly
  • Represent BPH in the community and marketplace
  • Hire, coach, and evaluate sales and service personnel
  • Enforce safety standards and company policies
  • Support employee growth, retention, and succession planning
  • Ensure proper care and use of company vehicles and equipment
  • Oversee inspections, maintenance, and safety compliance
