Join us and do things you never dreamed possible. The General Operations Manager position will provide managerial oversight at the BPEP Operations in Beaumont, TX. This role ensures safe, efficient, and customer-focused execution of services while supporting team development, asset management, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This a 24-hour operation which requires a hands-on leader who learns quickly, drives operational improvements, and fosters a culture of safety and accountability in alignment with Savage’s Strategic Framework.

  • Must be able to meet all pre-hire requirements including but not limited to background check, drug and alcohol testing, MVR, reference checks, etc.
  • Must be willing and able to wear PPE required by the site or Customer, if applicable
  • Will be exposed to the weather, including extreme heat and/or cold, wind, rain, snow, and other adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work off hours and weekends when needed to cover/train certain job positions
  • Must be willing to work in tight and confined spaces
  • Must be able to walk for extended periods of time over uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to work at various heights
  • Will be exposed to various site hazards, including but not limited to loud noises and flashing lights, dust and fumes, hazardous materials, heavy equipment and machinery, heights, stairs, enclosed spaces, and other situations specific to the work and location.
  • For safety reasons, must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction across the BPEP facility in Beaumont, TX operations in meeting safety, quality, and operational performance standards
  • Operation site leader for the Savage Team Members employed at that site, an example of high integrity and fair treatment of others
  • Demonstrates a commitment to “zero occurrences” by effectively leading the safety, health and environmental efforts at the operation
  • Effective utilization of the “Safety Specialist” program as a tool for accomplishing the safety goals of the operation and for developing future leadership
  • Oversees execution of Savage’s “S7 Delivery System” including prompt resolution of deficiencies and action items.
  • Develops and oversees execution of the site Business Plan including budgeting, projecting and ongoing cost management
  • Builds and maintains strong customer relationships at multiple levels
  • Leads Team with the ability to solve problems and make decisions both individually and in a team environment
  • Oversee the S7 Delivery System for multiple sites and teaches site leaders the Savage systems and best practices.
  • Oversee operations and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements including but not limited to ensuring compliance with company policies, safety programs, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, MSHA, DOT, FRA, etc.)
  • Drives operational excellence by implementing process improvements, monitoring KPIs, and identifying cost efficiencies
  • Develop and execute financial plans, including budgets, forecasts, and long-term capital strategies
  • Cultivates strong customer relationships and seeks opportunities for growth and new business
  • Collaborates with leadership teams to align business unit goals with company objectives.
  • Ensure all operations are staffed appropriately and team member engagement is optimized
