About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management, promotion, and operation of the Stuart C. Siegel Center. This includes overseeing various departments such as purchasing, booking, marketing, finance, human resources, food and beverage, box office, advertising, security, production, maintenance, and parking. The role requires maintaining active contact with the Client/Contract Administrator and ensuring compliance with all provisions of the services contract. The General Manager will aggressively promote the facility to maximize its utilization and negotiate lease agreements and contracts with event organizers and other stakeholders. The position also involves developing and implementing facility goals, preparing necessary reports, and coordinating all activities and personnel engaged in maintaining and operating the facility. Additionally, the General Manager will oversee human resources functions, evaluate facility practices, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of managing and leading large scale facility operations.
  • Significant experience in contract negotiations, supervising personnel, and promoting live entertainment productions.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in business or public administration or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of industry experience in a senior management position within an Arena, Convention Center, or Stadium.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains active contact with the Client/Contract Administrator.
  • Monitors ASM Global compliance with all provisions of the services contract.
  • Aggressively promotes the use of the facility to maximize its utilization.
  • Negotiates lease agreements and contracts with event organizers, hosts, managers, and agents.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and implements specific plans and programs prescribed by corporate directives.
  • Develops and implements facility goals in accordance with management contract and corporate policy.
  • Prepares and maintains required reports for the Client/Contract Administrator and Corporate Office.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs all activities and personnel for facility operations.
  • Conducts marketing, budgeting, and weekly staff meetings.
  • Directs the development and execution of operating and marketing financial plans.
  • Provides control of day-to-day operations and conducts post-event reviews.
  • Provides final approval of all contracts and agreements with suppliers and promoters.
  • Coordinates timely responses to directives and requests from various organizations.
  • Oversees and advises Human Resources on staffing plans and personnel administration.
  • Evaluates facility practices and recommends improvements.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
