About The Position

The General Manager Production is responsible for the total operation of the assigned business area. This position ensures the efficient and safe manufacturing of quality products in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include: Providing supervisors with information, materials, and training to produce the highest quality product possible. Monitoring records for attendance, payroll, production, safety, ergonomics, and TQM. Promoting new ideas and encouraging the development of ideas from Team Members. Overseeing daily operations of the assigned area and analyzing non-routine problems, offering recommendations for solutions to the Plant Manager. Ensuring compliance with USDA, Federal, and State Regulations. Maintaining the entire operation of the assigned area, including safety, production yields, quality, Team Member relations, turnover and absenteeism, discipline, payroll, staffing, and line speeds.

Requirements

  • Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 plus years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations.
  • Processing management experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
