About The Position

The General Manager, Operations III is responsible for the direction, management, and control of operations, sales, employees, and budgets at a large site. This position requires managing logistics center operations while maintaining customer relationships and ensuring productive and positive relationships among all associates. The role involves implementing continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve service levels, capacity, productivity, and quality. The General Manager will also manage the inbound and outbound movement of products, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and participate in annual budget preparation with full P&L responsibility for the distribution center network.

Requirements

  • College Degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution and fulfillment leadership.
  • At least 5 years in a top position within a distribution center.
  • Strong background in supply chain systems (WMS, Inventory Planning, ERP, etc.).
  • Experience in project management and demonstrated success in process improvement.
  • Proven track record of building and developing strong supply chain organizations.
  • Outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and employee relations skills with a focus on engagement.
  • High standard of integrity and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage logistics center operations while maintaining customer relationships.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost of operations and improve service level, capacity, productivity, and quality.
  • Manage the inbound and outbound movement of product into and out of the logistics center.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in annual budget preparation and have full P&L responsibility for the distribution center network.
  • Hire, develop, and retain distribution center staff.
  • Drive operational excellence and best practices to improve quality, service, cost, and safety.
  • Ensure all safety, regulatory, and compliance measures are met.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor KPI targets and goals.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures.
  • Select and place staff, ensure staff receives training, and manage performance.
