About the position

The General Manager at Menzies Aviation is responsible for overseeing all station operations, ensuring adherence to safety, security, and quality standards while managing financial performance. This senior-level role requires strong leadership and operational skills to maintain a safe workplace and promote a culture of safety among staff. The General Manager will also engage with customers to enhance service delivery and pursue business growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Fully responsible for the safety and well-being of MA staff; promoting a Safety-First culture; and managing all other aspects of running the station.
  • Implementation and adherence to MA Safety, Security, Quality, and Training policies and SOPs as well as all relevant regulations.
  • Lead and collaborate with the senior team to maintain effective safety and security systems, risk assessments, and operational training programs.
  • Provide immediate and direct feedback to Employees and colleagues, ensuring effective delivery of safety-related briefings.
  • Participate in the development of station-level budgets and ensure proper staffing, planning, and scheduling.
  • Accountable for financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance and Legal aspects of Menzies' businesses.
  • Interact with customers to promote the station and measure customer satisfaction, using feedback for improvement.
  • Develop and implement the station Emergency Response Plan and other safety plans.
  • Assign responsibilities for overseeing the implementation of safety management systems and compliance with quality assurance manuals.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Lead and motivate teams to deliver excellent quality and productivity, conducting routine staff meetings and performance appraisals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience in business development, sales, and commercial negotiation & pricing.
  • Wide-ranging general management experience, with some years of senior management experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and present at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately without immediate support.
  • Must hold requisite employment authority to work in the USA and be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in an into-plane fueling or ground equipment fueling environment.
  • Proficiency in desktop computing applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
