About The Position

This position is responsible for: Assist in controlling expenses. Provide for the compliance and coordination of the federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements. Interpret and enforce company policies. Assist in the determination of manpower needs and makes recommendations;. Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up. Work with department heads to meet production, quality, yields, and goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product. Inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of house keeping, safety, sanitation, and security. Supervise production supervisors; and oversee all designated shift operations. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related industry 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a meat processing facility and knowledge of OSHA USDA and HACCP regulations.
  • Standard computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train team members
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Monitor and appraise work performance
  • Reward coach counsel and discipline team members
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality, yields, cost, and efficiencies strong math ability a plus.
