About The Position

This role is ideal for a strong, hands-on leader who understands fleet-based operations, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and knows how to scale performance while maintaining GFL’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and customer service.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in waste management, environmental services, transportation, or logistics
  • Proven success leading large, frontline and management teams
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L responsibility
  • Deep understanding of fleet maintenance, routing, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong communicator with the ability to lead change and drive accountability

  • Experience operating within a large, decentralized organization preferred

Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership, driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost discipline
  • Lead and develop management teams across operations, maintenance, sales, and admin
  • Champion GFL’s “Safety First” culture, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and internal standards
  • Optimize fleet and operations, including routing efficiency, labor productivity, asset utilization, and uptime
  • Partner with Sales leadership to grow market share, retain key customers, and support municipal contracts
  • Drive operational excellence using KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as the local face of GFL, building relationships with municipalities, regulators, customers, and community partners
  • Build a strong leadership pipeline, coaching managers and preparing future leaders within GFL
