About The Position

The General Manager (GM) of Ready-Mix Concrete Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ready-mix production, distribution, sales, and customer service. This leadership role ensures operational efficiency, profitability, safety compliance, and team performance across multiple plant locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in the ready-mix concrete or related construction materials industry.
  • 3+ years in a senior leadership or general management role.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, logistics, and quality control in a concrete production environment.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and financial management skills.
  • Proficiency in dispatch software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production and delivery operations across all plant locations.
  • Ensure optimal plant performance, quality control, and compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, and other key clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide accurate estimates, pricing, and delivery scheduling.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditures.
  • Monitor P&L statements, control costs, and identify areas for financial improvement.
  • Drive initiatives to maximize profitability while maintaining service quality.
  • Lead, train, and motivate plant managers, dispatchers, drivers, and administrative staff.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
  • Ensure adherence to all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through training, audits, and proactive risk management.
  • Maintain records and reporting systems in compliance with industry regulations.
