About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for focusing on safety, continuous improvement, and strategic initiatives, managing projects, implementing solutions to drive the company’s long-term strategy and achieving the annual operating plan. This position is responsible for daily operating plan and management of a multi-temperature, technology-driven, highly customer-focused warehouse and transportation teams. Also, the position is responsible for managing relationships with local customers, including negotiations of pricing protocols, new projects, business review agendas, prospecting new customers, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Engineering or Science or other related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in all areas of a high-volume, food service, unionized distribution, supply chain or logistics or manufacturing environment.
  • 6+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated positive and influential involvement with customers.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Excellent time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong, interactive team player.
  • Integrative thinker and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • High initiative, self-motivation, and strong leadership qualities.
  • Ability to produce accurate and timely reports.
  • Working knowledge of (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point etc.).
  • Demonstrated role model with proven success in team development, performance management, and customer relationships.
  • This position must pass a post-offer background check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all Key Performance Indicators and ensure continuous improvement in cost-effectiveness while meeting quality, safety, and social responsibility standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate with customers, franchise partners, and distributors to ensure service reliability and accuracy.
  • Ensure alignment of cross-functional team plans and strategies and maintain strong end-to-end supply chain practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety, and address emerging business needs to enhance operational results.
  • Leverage consumer insights and innovation strategies to drive market opportunities, improve margins, and generate business growth.
  • Manage talent attraction, development, and retention, and collaborate with HR on labor relations and performance management.
  • Develop and mentor the leadership team through onboarding, training, and performance management, while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Manage and develop the annual Facility budget, with full P&L responsibilities.
  • Provide superior customer service by maintaining professional relationships with customers and vendors and delivering effective presentations.
  • Maintain high-level services to retain current customers and prospect new customers and business opportunities in the region.
  • Develop and implement business plans to meet customer expectations and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Responsible for leading commercial negotiations, promoting process innovations, improving productivity, and strengthening relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Analyze expenses and recoveries, managing the account to ensure robust financial control.
  • Other duties as assigned.
