As the General Manager, you will be responsible for setting vision and instilling culture within the organization, member experiences, operational excellence, and financial performance across all club amenities, programming, and services. The role is centered on entrepreneurial drive, a vison for and focus to deliver ‘unreasonable hospitality’, and integrates a spirit to serve along with a leadership by example approach to management – along with a vigorous governance to protect the club’s assets and culture—delivering anticipatory, personalized service and brand consistency while being the ambassador of our luxury private club. The General Manager sets the service vision, implements standards, and holds department heads and all team members accountable, balancing member satisfaction with disciplined business execution – and an intense focus on creating value for the business through the quality of its operations. The GM serves as the face of the club, overseeing staff hiring, training, developing departments and departmental standards, and ensuring all operations and member experiences meet the highest standards of excellence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality, private clubs, preeminent golf, or resort operations.
  • Proven track record in managing high-end service environments with complex operational needs.
  • Strong background in food & beverage, golf operations, member services, events, and general operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality management or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Pre-opening General Manager experience preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, team building and communication skills; able to hire, mentor, and develop staff across multiple functions.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience budgeting, forecasting, and managing multi-department P&Ls.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and ability to manage ambiguity in a developing organization.
  • Excellent communication, proactive problem identification and problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions and stand/walk for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Pre-opening General Manager experience preferred.
  • MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Defining and embodying Areté Collective and Loraloma’s core values and ensuring they guide decisions and everyday behaviors and service delivery.
  • Assume and demonstrate a leadership role in bridging the gap between the Loraloma’s vision, the brand’s intended Member and guest experiences conceived in the design process with future financial success in mind – and make certain designed projects and projects under construction are operationally ready to deliver from Day 1 without future change order, scope creep and/or budget increases in pre-opening/opening phases of operation.
  • Leadership by Example & Clear Communications to inspire the team, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and mediating conflicts as needed.
  • Deliver world-class member and guest experiences by managing memorable events, maintaining ambiance, and ensuring brand standards are consistently met.
  • Create engagement strategies, events, and touchpoints to ensure member satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Establish and effectively implement policies, procedures, and staffing to provide consistent, premium member experiences.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members and the community. Represent Areté Collective and Loraloma at key events and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Be an ambassador of Loraloma within the club as well as throughout the community, and beyond.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of all club functions, including food & beverage, golf course operations, agronomy and club landscaping, events, and other recreational amenities.
  • Align Golf and Club Operations with broader club strategy, revenue and profit goals, and member engagement objectives.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, quality, and alignment.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage budgets, monitor revenue and expenses, and provide regular financial reports. Ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs, P&L performance, and operational efficiency to ensure the club meets financial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize profitable revenue streams that enhance Member experiences while also controlling costs as the club grows.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff across all departments. Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and implement training programs to maintain high service standards.
  • Establish standard operating procedures, staffing models, service standards, and KPIs for each department.
  • Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership across all departments.
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to drive pipeline for membership engagement – and support new member recruitment and on-boarding.
  • Represent the club by expanding influence via partnerships and community outreach; build relationships with local community members, vendors, and stakeholders.
