The General Manager, Distribution Center Operations, is responsible for leadership, operational performance, financial results, compliance, and team member experience for a Distribution Center and Retail Outlet Store. This role drives strategic planning and execution to meet organizational goals related to safety, productivity, quality, cost, customer service, and mission impact. Role & Responsibilities Operations & Strategy Develop and execute supply chain operational plans to support retail, e-commerce, and mission objectives. Oversee donation processing, warehousing, and distribution activities to maximize space, recovery and throughout. Outlet Store Operations: product rotation and flow, merchandising standards, process controls, and customer service. Partnering with transportation and logistics on dock schedules and operations. Forecast staffing needs and manage workloads to meet operational demand. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste with recycling and aftermarket. Financial Management Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste with recycling and aftermarket. Analyze operational and financial reports and key performance indicators to guide decisions. Maximize and achieve sales goals for the retail outlet store and support recycling and aftermarket objectives. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with Goodwill policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain operational procedures, controls, and documentation. Leadership & Culture Lead, coach, and develop managers and team members. Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement, and mission integration. Support workforce development, training, and career pathway initiatives aligned with Goodwill’s mission. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate closely with retail operations, mission services, transportation, and corporate partners. Address operational issues impacting donors, stores, and internal customers. Represent Goodwill in community or partner engagements as appropriate. Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibilities over Assistant Site Manager, supervisor(s), lead(s), material handlers, dock workers and forklift operators assigned to Post Retail Operations. Work Environment & Expectations On-site leadership role in a fast-paced, multi-function supply chain environment. Safety leadership in training, compliance, documented processes, audits, report and investigations. Multi-shift, weekend, or seasonal operations required. Scheduling execution: ensures correct staffing, attendance, and operational coverage. Regular collaboration with retail locations, transportation partners, and mission services teams.
