About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a General Manager, 4 - Food for a Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL. This General Manager 4 will oversee all the food operations at the account. The scope of food operations at Oakwood University includes a Resident Dining Facility, Company Brand Retail locations, a Bistro and Catering to include High End Presidential Catering. This is an HBCU and fully Vegetarian/Vegan University, in which all food offerings comply, and also is a 7 day Adventist. Successful Candidate needs to have a proven leadership record managing a management team and hourly staff, proven strong Client Relations, and strong operational and financial acumen. Customer Service, Food and Presentation Quality, Marketing and Student Satisfaction must be priorities. We are looking for a positive innovative, strategic business leader with a demonstrated history of developing strong teams and creating an excellent guest dining experience.

Requirements

  • Have at least 3 consecutive years of food service experience
  • Have previous Food operations management in a university setting or large volume sectors of Healthcare, Sports and Leisure, or large corporate settings;
  • Be proficient in use of online Food Management Systems for menu/recipe planning, ordering and inventory;
  • Demonstrate proven financial acumen/success: Food costs/ labor costs, budgets.
  • Be a people person with a strong focus with maintaining positive client relations; a solid manager/leader who is perceptive and has attention to details that make a difference – quality and presentation of food – customer service –
  • Be able to multi-task, organized, innovative and an effective leader who can motivate their staff. – strong employee engagement through developing, mentoring, training and motivating encouraging staff to a high level of execution and pride/passion for what they do.
  • Be customer focused– including providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment.
  • a history of strong leadership and excellent communication skills;

  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Management Experience – 5 yearsMinimum Functional Experience – 5 years
