About The Position

The General Manager at Xoom Convenience Stores is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring financial stability, maintaining employee relations, and delivering quality customer service. This role requires effective management of human resources, financial management, marketing, food service management, loss prevention, and safety protocols. The General Manager will lead a team, implement company policies, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail management or relevant experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient accounting skills and ability to use P&L and store reports.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of supervising experience preferred.
  • 5 years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale by supervising employees and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire employees to ensure proper staffing of the facility.
  • Train and develop all employees, supervising training conducted by the Assistant Manager or other designee.
  • Manage labor hours through effective scheduling and adjust rates of pay for employees as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, security, and EEO policies by all employees.
  • Evaluate and take disciplinary action on violations of company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and conduct performance reviews for all employees according to company policy.
  • Resolve employee relations problems and document performance issues as necessary.
  • Manage expenses, profits, and losses to ensure financial stability of the operation.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of facility accounting with company reports.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service and maintain safe conditions at the facility.
  • Direct sales promotions and manage inventory levels to maximize turnover without loss of sales.
  • Supervise food service programs and ensure quality standards and sanitation regulations are met.
  • Implement security measures and control inventory shrinkage according to corporate guidelines.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of equipment and maintain a safe environment.
